Serena Marlowe and Carly Heiser are attending a two-week field hockey camp at Boston University. While on a day trip to sightsee at historic Boston places, Serena, a history buff, sees some strange goings-on. She believes that somebody is stealing valuable historical artifacts and vows to get to the bottom of it. There's plenty of excitement as the girls pursue the thieves from Paul Revere's house to the Children's Museum. The Freedom Trail takes on a whole new meaning, though, as Serena and Carly realize that they themselves have become the pursued.

About the author: Nancy Speck is a social worker, mother, and historian whose combined experiences in each of these roles have led to the writing and publication of six children's books. Nancy and her husband and two teenaged daughters live in a Civil War-era house in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She is the author of Firecracker Power, Cave Hill Treasure and Other Stories, and Blaze on Rocky Ridge and Other Stories.
